English Wines Win Big @ CSWWC 2017

CrXQIFLWIAEb1Rw

This years Champagne and Sparkling Wine World Championship has recently announced its medal winners for 2017 and it was wonderful to see so many English and Welsh Wine Makers scooping gold medals. It’s just further proof that wine making in England and Wales is on the up and here to stay!

Blinding Success

The CSWWC is run by three sparkling wine experts, with some serious game in the industry. Everything’s tasted blind, which means they don’t know what they’re tasting nor who makes it. It’s about as standardized and fair a competition that you can get, which makes the British success even better.

Big Winners

Of course the big winners were, as you can imagine, French and Italian wines, with Louis Roederer alone scooping 10 of the 127 gold medals awarded in the entire competition!!

Brits Representing!

But huge congrats to:

Alder Ridge

Bolney

Camel Valley

Coates and Seely

Digby

Harrow and Hope

Hattingley Valley

Squerres

Nytimber

High Clandon

Plumpton College

Looking forward to trying all these at the awards dinner in September. Will have to sort out a tuxedo that actually fits me this year 😉

Cheers
