Well the blog was a bit barren last week wasn’t it?! I was in the middle of leaving my summer trip to France and Italy and driving all the way back to London. It’s not that painful a journey but, as the wife doesn’t drive, muggins here has to do the whole trip. A mixture of Game Of Thrones on Audible and a day’s stop over in Champagne sorted us out though. And here I am back in the Big Smoke!
So coming up this week on the blog I’ll be chatting about my trip to Bar-Sur-Aube in the Côte Des Bar region of Champagne. It’s the least well known and least visited of the regions of Champagne, so a funny one for my first proper visit to the most famous sparkling wine appellation going. But plenty of great wines and plenty of observations to have a flick through!
Other than that there’s a restaurant review coming later on too. A few of us took my future brother in law, Paolo, out for a dinner on Saturday night in South West London. See how we all got on down there with the first Japanese food I’d had in a long, long time.
Personally (other than a mountain of post travelling admin) I’ll also be down at the Awin Barratt Siegel portfolio tasting in Westminster tomorrow. Looking forward to tucking in to their range of Aussie wines. I’m also using up my birthday present from my family to go on the Sipsmith’s Gin tour too. Can’t wait for that either!
Cheers
Mike
