People’s Choice Wine Awards

In the last few months I’ve been doing a few more tasting panels and wine judging. It’s good fun as long as you remember to try and enjoy the wines and not get too wound up if you think of things differently to the other judges.  I mean that’s just natural, right?  You’ve got your own nose, your own palate, you’re going to have your own opinion aren’t you?

Screen Shot 2018-06-12 at 16.37.41With that in mind I was delighted to be asked to be part of the judging panel for the People’s Choice Wine Awards.  Started by Janet Harrison a couple of years back, it brings together wine enthusiasts and people who work in the trade to come together and rate wines on the things that mean more for the punter in the wine aisle.  We all look at and taste wine differently, and this set of awards really recognises that.

As Janet puts it in the press release – A wine awards judged by wine lovers and placing consumers at the heart of the process.  Sounds good to me!

So I’m looking forward to heading north to Manchester to be part of ranking the wines on such scales as “best for a girls’ night in” and “top bag in the box”.

Might have to come up with one or two of my own…wonder if “week’s been shit and it’s Thursday night” has already been taken?

Cheers

P.S. Maybe should have picked a more professional photo for the Judges’ page?
