Week 50? Can you believe we’ve only got a fortnight left of 2014? Well I don’t know about anyone else, but for me it’s flown by in a blur of well…let’s not go into that right now…let’s just say drinking great wines and meeting some great people. And this week I get to share my love of Port with everyone!
Another (fortified) wine where it’s more important than most to know what the label has on it, I’ll have a brief chat about that. Also, as Portugal starts to grow in reputation for their booming artisan wine industry, I’ll talk about the history behind their most famous export.
My picks for this week are:
Tesco – Cockburn’s Special Reserve Port @ £8.00 (33% off)
Marks and Spencer – 20 Year Old Tawny Port @ £33.00
Sainsbury’s – Taylor’s LBV Port @ £10.00 (£5 off)
Waitrose – Sandeman LBV Port @ £12.99
Majestic Wine – Warre’s Otima 10yo Tawny @ £13.49 (50cl)
Spirited Wines – King’s White Port @ £13.98
Vinmonopolet – Taylor’s LBV Port @ NOK 190
Happy hunting
Cheers
Very nice! A great subject, generally very underappreciated
Yeah, was a bit tongue on cheek doing it for christmas, as for some reason most of us only drink it over Christmas!

I like your usage of fortnight- not enough people utilize that word!
🙂 too many underused words out there!

I really enjoy the Warre’s Otima 10 year tawny. What I love about tawny is that is stays fresh for a long time after opening. Very good value too!
Will try make sure I give it a try!
