I’m really glad that we’ve gone for this one at some point during this year. Vinho Verde is that white wine that you must of heard of and is used as the benchmark of European aperitifs (that’s wines that kick off the night!).
Why Vinho Verde? I’ve no idea. Maybe it has a lot to do with the historic trading connections between the UK and Portugal. We’ve always been able to get hold of the stuff. Maybe it’s the easy-going zestyness, acidity, refreshing appeal of it all.
Hopefully we’re about to find out this week.
My picks this week are
Majestic
Quinta de Azevedo, 2013, Vinho Verde @ £5.99
Morrisons
Morrisons Vinho Verde @ £4.49
Sainsburys
Sainsbury’s Portuguese Vinho Verde @ £4.75
Spirited Wines
Espigueiro Vinho Verde, 2011 @ £9.21
Vinmonopolet
Aveleda Vinho Verde, 2012, @ NOK 200
Happy shopping
Cheers

I’m loving those prices! Portuguese wines are priced right for this cheapeaux…looking forward to it.
Yeah, great way for people to get stuck in, nothing too pricey
