I’ve been thinking recently about ways of getting the 20h33 brand out there to people. What I’m after being is an old school wine broker. I want my clients to be happy to ring me up and have a natter about what they’re after. I want them to know me, I want them to trust me, and that’s where my efforts need to lie at the minute. So if you’re looking to get to know your punters, where better to start than close to home?
It’s with this in mind that I decided to get a stall at the Primrose Hill Market. It’s open 10-3 every Saturday behind Primrose Hill in North West London. Essentially it’s an artisan food market. Some seriously great produce is knocking around, so here was me thinking “maybe a wine stall?” So I went for it.
Last week was my first week. The plan is to sell wines by the glass and by the bottle and by the case when I’m down there. Last week wasn’t the best of starts as I messed the form for the council to allow me to sell alcohol, so I couldn’t sell anything, but I could stand there and get to know a few traders and a few market regulars.
I’ve been plopped in the middle of a free-range chicken farmer, an organic vegetable stand, a premium Norwegian smoked salmon vendor, and a high end peanut butter stall. Yes, I said peanut butter. I can’t describe how good this stuff is, I’m converted! I also noticed that my crémant is the perfect palate cleanser after a few spoons of peanut butter. Who knew?
I had a great time with the other traders, and great feedback from the punters who came down to brave the cold last week. Looking forward to next weekend already!
Cheers
