As I mentioned last week, there’s been plenty of net research, book reading, and general back ache from sitting down infront of the computer too much this week. It’s been all about my gin project for my next WSET exam. And guess what? I haven’t finished it!! I know, crap isn’t it?!
Well I still managed to out and about a few times last week, most notably at the Wine Australia bling tasting session and the Waitrose autumn/winter wine tasting.
Wine Australia put on a monthly blind wine tasting challenge for trade guys and girls. I came down a bit sick the time before, so this was my first time down there. I’ll be having a natter about the nerves of blind tasting 18 wines and then being marked at the end of it all by a pair of MWs (masters of wine)!
Also I made it down to see the guys and girls at Waitrose when they did their autumn/winter wine collection preview. This was a big room full of gleaming bottles. I did my best to taste my way through the 200ish in the day. See how I got on later in the week.
This week I’ve got the Lidl wine tasting, a trip down to South London for a New Zealand wines showcase, and finishing it off with a trip to Fulham for some Languedoc. Better get the stripped shirt and chinos ready for that one!
