#NWTW Week 3: What To Expect From Albariño From North West Spain

Well I guess this is a bit of a silly post, given that Albariño from the Rias Baixas is the main area in the world where you get this wine.  But, as I recently said during my groom’s speech as I was being heckled by my mother in law, “I’m going to carry on regardless!”

I said in the last post about that peach and apricot should in theory bounce up out of the glass and physically attack your nostrils from a great distance.  I’m looking forward to it.

It should also be very nicely balanced as winemakers have plenty of natural acidity to play with in order to make it a very smooth drink that should have me clambering for bottle number 2 (and 3 and maybe even 4!).

And from there I don’t really know.  As I said in the last post, it can be made in light or full styles, and I’m hoping that in my choices from the supermarkets I’ve managed to get a range in there.  Also, Rias Baixas is subject to the vintage variations, so I’m going to do some quick digging on t’interweb to work out what happened in 2012.  The weekend will tell I guess.
